While I have some gumbo cookin' away in the crockpot,
I must take time to voice something I am irritated about.
Leotards.
I mean I understand these people are entertainers
but come on, wear some bottoms!
It looks so ridiculous to me - why does the trend continue?
Save 'em for dance class.

Defective

That word pretty much sums up my day and also, well, my car.

Yep, my shiny new Camry that we got in November is on the recall list. Boo. And I can't get the dealership to return my call as to what/when I need to do to get the accelerator problem fixed. Apparently they're doing something to fix the pedal so that it doesn't stick. If your VIN starts with the letter "J", you're fine...mine starts with a "4". I have had no problems, knock on wood, so far, but still - kinda scary.

Not as scary as Vienna on The Bachelor though. Seriously, what does he see in her? Girlfriend needs some help with her eye makeup in a bad way. Ya know, Jake's from Dallas, I live in Dallas, so I hear things...I heard through the grapevine that he's only 5'4". Maybe that's the problem. Nothing against vertically challenged men, but that is more than a little on the short side. Considering I'm 5'10" and my hub is 6'2" + an inch or 2 when he's wearing boots.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as hooked on the show as much as the next gal, it's just getting a little more challenging for me to want to root for a happy ending when Vienna is in the top 4.  The dirt on her is that she was previously married to a soldier and got a divorce...not before draining his bank account to get new ta-tas. Oh, the scandal!

Please pick Tenley, please pick Tenley. Restore my faith in you, Jake!

Last night, Dr D and I, along with another one of our friends, we'll call him Dr Z, went to a fantastic little coffee shop to watch and listen to the musical stylings of a fellow doctor friend of theirs who is an accomplished violinist. She actually used to play with the Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra, but last night she played the fiddle (which is really a violin, it's just a different style of music) alongside a folk music singer-songwriter named Jaime Saso.

I got hi-lights, can ya tell?

I give you "The Fur Baby"

I just love those moments when I can get a good, deep belly laugh from my husband. It's my goal, actually. He's always pretty happy-go-lucky and smiles a lot and all that, but typically reserves laugh-out-loud moments for episodes of "The Simpson's" and other silly things. The other day I randomly mentioned that a lot of bloggers call their pets their "fur babies" and was quite shocked by his audible laugh instead of a smile and a "that's funny." Then I started laughing too because he found it so hilarious. And hence, I was triumphant.

A bag and a blog

Hello! Hope ya'll had a great weekend!
I have to share my recent obsession: designer consignment.

Here are some Dallas online shops that will ship anywhere:
Not so much designer but some fun stuff at my site: 2dogblogcloset

And you can also purchase some good stuff from the BagBorroworSteal Outlet.

For the Dallas gals who'd prefer to shop in person,
I love Clothes Horse Anonymous and Clothes Circuit.

So I'll go ahead and show ya'll my new addition...

Truthful Thursdays (or is it supposed to be Tuedays?)

I know some ladies post certain things on certain days, ie Wordless Wednesday.
So if it exists or not, I'm going to make today Truthful Thursday...
  1. I got my first ever speeding ticket yesterday morning. I cried. But I cried just a little too late to perhaps make the officer waiver in his judgment on giving me a citation or not. I foresee driving school, gag.
  2. It was either the 20 pound bag of frozen chicken breasts from Costco or the wedding cake topper. The just wouldn't both fit. It was sad...but the chicken won. I'm so sorry wedding cake. I thought it was really cute though that my husband said, "we have to save some of it to eat on our anniversary!" So he sliced off a piece and put it back into the freezer...then we both tried the remains. There's just something not right about eating your wedding cake. I mean it's not just any cake. I'm really not that superstitious..and it was delish. But I felt remorse since our 1 year anniversary isn't until May, so I cut the cake topper into smaller slices and put it in smaller containers (now I have no Tupperware containers!) and returned it to its freezer home.
  3. It's been in the 70's here this week and it makes life so much easier in the morning getting out of bed. No painfully cold hardwood floors and cursing as I can see my breath. That's not really a confession, just a statement.
  4. Celeb gossip is sort of a pastime of mine, that's why I love the blog Day Old News
  5. Dr D had a dinner with his department last night in which all of the residents and prospective interviewers (4th year medical students from various places across the country) mingled, spouses too. We had a fantastic time.  Honestly it's just like sorority rush all over again, the only thing missing is asking "what's your major?" All other questions - "Where are you from? What kind of hobbies are you interested in? Do you know anyone here?...blah blah blah" still apply.
  6. I'm dying to go to Anthro, they are having the best sale. Sigh. Go shop for me and tell me what you bought! May I make some suggestions?

Hi! Hope ya'll had a good weekend! On Friday, my house looked like this...
(That lump behind Stella is a snoozing Dr D and Sophie's there somewhere)

On Saturday Dr D and I made a trip to Costco and then went to a pro hockey game! My first, it was so fun: the Dallas Stars beat the Detroit Redwings in a shoot out! We drank a couple of beers and then had Mexican food afterward. So much for my diet this weekend. I didn't work out all weekend because I was decrepitly sore from running 3 miles on Thursday...for which my husband teased me about all weekend. I am out. of. shape.

Speaking of dieters with wandering eyes, this could be bad…
I just discovered a company called Tiff's Treats that can deliver warm
out-of-the-oven cookies to my door!
I haven’t given into temptation yet but I can just imagine
being in my pj’s and ordering gooey chocolate chip cookies
(and they’ll deliver milk and icecream too!) in a moment of weakness.

OMG, did ya'll see this?

So was reading my daily dose of People.com and discovered this...
Granted she's crazy as a loon,
but I always thought Heidi from The Hills was gorgeous.
The poor girl has ruined herself from the looks the picture
on the right, check out this magazine cover!

The article:
At just 23 years old, The Hills star Heidi Montag decided to go under the knife for a second time and have a staggering 10 plastic-surgery procedures in one day.

"For the past three years, I've thought about what to have done," the reality star tells PEOPLE. "I'm beyond obsessed."

And so, on Nov. 20, Montag's total transformation began. Keeping even her family in the dark, the starlet chronicled every painful moment of recovery and her journey to become "the best me."

To find out what surgeries Heidi underwent and what husband Spencer Pratt thinks of her new look, pick up the latest issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday.
